My crew and I have worked hard all day—laundry, housework, grocery shopping and yardwork.  Then ice cream.  Love Ice Cream.

1.  I love fireflies.  After ice cream tonight, we went out and caught fireflies.  It seems to me that there are less fireflies than there used to be–I think I remember reading an article somewhere that they are starting to thin out due to light pollution.  But I also read this article about a place in TN where they are plentiful–and amazing.  Check it out HERE.

2.  Here are some amazing WildLife Photography Winning Pictures I particularly like the bald eagle picture.

3.  Anyone who truly knows me, knows that I love Sesame street.  Particularly Grover.  I can’t fall asleep without making sure my Grover is on the pillow next to me.  So I love any and all posts about Sesame street, and found this post at 22Words of “Before and After Pictures” of Elmo and Grover to be very funny.

4.  I was hugely inspired by this story of a woman who has lost over 300 pounds through diet and lots of hard work.  She’s amazing.

5.  Loved, Loved, Loved this illustrated quote from Mark Twain about the types of people he invites to a pre-publishing reading of his work.

Tomorrow I start a new job officially.  I am praying for sleep soon.  5 AM comes very early.

1.  I love bonsai trees.  Always have.  Here’s a site that features 15 absolutely amazing Bonsai Trees.  I can’t even keep the stupid rose bush alive in my front yard.  My girl told me tonight…”Mom, I think you are supposed to water it.”  Hmm.

2.  I’ve been a bit OCD for the past couple of weeks about productivity.  So naturally I appreciated this post of 100 Web Apps, many of them designed to assist with productivity.  Now if I’d get my lazy bum off the internet looking for apps to help me be more productive and actually be productive……

3.  There have been some great deals of books for the Kindle this week.  Here’s a helpful post that shows how a person can find free or very low costing Christian books from trusted publishers.  Finding Free Christian Books

4. Nerd Alert:  I enjoyed—really I did–this post on the em dash–you know, those two dashes that writers will put in between their thoughts?–not that I over use them or anything–just saying–The Case Against the Em Dash

5.  Lastly, remember the exuberance of learning to ride your bike?  The sense of Accomplishment?  It’s all captured here in this wise advice from this new bike rider….Thumbs Up for Rock and Roll!

Another list of useless (and not so useless) links:

1.  I’m so glad to know that the CDC has covered all the bases in case we come under attack by Zombies.

2.  Loved the idea of turning old, unwanted books (although is there really any unwanted books?) into planters.

3.  John Acuff (Stuff Christians Like) always makes me laugh.  His list here of things we should “Agree to Disagree” on is hysterical.

4.  I’ve been using MyFitnessPal to track calories–it’s database is huge and it’s easy to use.

5.  Ok, I loved this video of vegetables rotting.  Pretty cool.

It’s Sunday night and another week looms large.

1.  It’s been so long since I’ve been anywhere, and there are no trips on the horizon.  I love to fly.  Here are some hotels and cabins that have been made out of airplanes.

2.  A friend of mine is experimenting with the idea of standing more than sitting during the day, including working at a standing desk.  Here’s an Infographic that shows the dangers of sitting all day.  Interesting stuff.

3.  This weekend was the Orphan Summit in Louisville, KY.  I enjoyed reading Noel Piper’s posts from those meetings.  Here’s a site that sells items to benefit the Mercy House, a maternity home in Kenya.

4.  I enjoy strange places–visiting the out of the ordinary spots.  Here’s a fascinating video on the Salton Sea.

5.  Last…I loved this video of Paul Simon inviting a fan in the audience on stage to play and sing “Duncan” after she yelled out that she had learned to play guitar from that song.
