Here’s some interesting links I came across this week:

1.  A First Grade teacher asked her students to complete some well-known proverbs and sayings.  They were given the first half of the proverb, and then they were to complete the sentence.  The results were fantastic–find them HERE.  I can’t pick out my favorite…..

2.  Found an interesting site called “The Book List”.  I’ve not explored it much, but it seems to offer a list of excellent books, that you can then click on and be presented with study questions to use while reading that book.  Great idea, wish I had thought of it!

3. National Geographic presented a gut-wrenching article about Child Bride’s.  This should not be.  Read it in order to educate yourself and to be aware of this heartbreaking practice.

4. I LOVE these unique beds to sleep in.  I would have absolutely LOVED having the Story Book Bed to sleep and play in, amazing!

5.  Video of the week…..a treatise on Leadership with a hysterical dancing guy

Not sure what to think about this day.  Was ill Friday night, busy Saturday, discouraged Sunday and now it’s time to go back to work.  But here are some things you might find interesting from the blogosphere:

1. This is what I need….a house made out of bookshelves!

2.  When at the University of Maryland for the Odyssey of the Mind World competition, Bethany and I met an artist who does miniature carvings in the eyes of needles.  Here’s an artist who carves the lead of pencil tops.  Extroidinary.

3.  I may have shared this blog post from 22words before, but it is too funny to pass up:  Muppets before and after being on Meth

4.  Love this slideshow of 20 AWEsomely nerdy gift ideas.  I would love to have #20, the book cover for the MAC.

5.  I’ll end today’s Sunday Sundries with this very well done, very funny synopsis of all the Harry Potter movies up through 7.5., in under 7 minutes.  How’d they do it?  WE HAVE NO IDEA!

Where has this weekend gone??  It’s time for another round-up of useless links!

1.  My dream home would be this house made out of bookcases!

2.It’s Hot!  Do you remember life without air conditioning?  I remember my grandmother’s house having a monster huge attic fan that I was just certain was going to suck me right through and chop me into small pieces.  I would carefully slide across the hall wall, trying to avoid the monstrosity.  Here’s an article addressing life before air conditioning!

3.  Here’s a Iphone/Ipad app for the Book of Revelation.  I’ve not looked at it all, but it seems to be well done.

I’m not feeling too great tonight, but a few geeky and funny posts are always good medicine:

1.  Another great grammar story from NPR–this time about the Oxford Comma.

2.  Bizarre places I would love to travel to and see sometime before I die.

3. My oldest son lives Asperger’s syndrome, which is on he autism spectrum.  When he settles down and draws, sometimes he can put incredible focus into his work, even obsessing over the details for hours.  I really appreciated this artwork done by autistic children.

4.  Here is video of one of my most favorite places on this planet, the Keck Observatory on Mauna Kea.

5.  Finally, there is nothing better than excellently executed improv.  Check out the looks on these kid’s faces when they find themselves in the middle of a Carousel Horse Race.
