I’m a curious soul – with a wide range of nerdy and geeky interests, ranging from space exploration to theological concepts. I often find interesting items when stumbling about on the internet – and on Friday’s I like to share my findings with you!
Girl’s Basketball – All in the Family
Girl’s Basketball was a big deal in Iowa – particularly back in the days of six-on-six play. I have the athletic ability of a slug, so I never even entertained the idea of trying out for a team sport – but I did enjoy the games, particularly when we would travel to the big metropolis of Des Moines, for the State Championship.
This warm fuzzy story by News Station KARE-11, about four sisters playing on the same basketball team for a small town in Minnesota, was a fun and moving read – Basketball Family
Bowling Drone
The boys in my family have been fascinated with drones – we’ve had fun playing with them in our backyard, on hikes, and have even captured amazing scenery footage in Hawaii.
Jay Christensen captured some crazy creative footage of bowling alley action – in just one take. The video went viral, even capturing the attention of some Hollywood big wigs. It’s captivating & riveting – enjoy!
Travel & Reading, together? YES – Sign me UP
My guy and I love to travel – we are adventurous for sure; with lots of lists of places we hope to visit someday. On top of that, I love to read. It’s my favorite pastimes.
I do like to combine the two where I can – often seeking out books either about, or set in locations I am traveling to. Right now, I’m reading John Grisham’s The Judge’s List, which is set in Florida – our planned destination in March, to attend a wedding and visit the three National Parks – Everglades, Biscayne and Dry Tortugas.
Because of my love of travel & reading, I was thrilled to stumble upon Tale Away – a reading & travel blog that beautiful pairs the two together into something called “Destination Reading” – how awesome is that? If you love reading and travel as well – you may want to pay this blog a visit; well worth some scrolling and reading: Tale Away
