Friday Findings
I’m a curious soul – with a wide range of nerdy and geeky interests, ranging from space exploration to theological concepts. I often find interesting items when stumbling about on the internet – and on Friday’s I like to share my findings with you!
Here’s a peek at what I found in the past few weeks:
One Word – Every Book in the Bible
This post from Garret Kell is from 2017, but I only recently came across it. Words are hugely important to me, so I was drawn to Kell’s effort of assigning summarizing words or themes. I think I’d like to print this list up and add it to my daily Bible Study reference materials, for reference. Check it out here: One Word
Colored Circles Mystery
Ok – so am I the only one who has ever wondered what the weird colored circles are on bags of chips and other food packaging? The folks over at Mental Floss have demystified the mystery for us, in their explanatory article. You may be disappointed by the answer, but hey – at least you’ll know, and, as the saying goes…”The more you know…..”: Colored Circles
Could you be an FBI Agent?
I’ve always thought that I’d be a great FBI agent. Or, maybe a CIA operative. In fact, I often mention that to my husband. So much so, that he’s probably sick of hearing it – which may be why he sent me this video this past week. It’s a (fictional) test from The Bright Side, to test whether someone could pass the FBI Special Agent test. I didn’t do so well – so I think the thing is rigged, because we all know I’d totally rock the FBI agent gig. Maybe you think you could do better? Give it a try: FBI Special Agent Test
New Music from The Gray Havens
I first came across The Gray Havens a couple of years ago, when I stumbled upon their song “Far Kingdom”. Those lyrics spoke volumes to my soul at the time – and still do today. I’m excited to see a recent new release from this group, titled “She Waits”. I love that – the title draws us to the recognition that we, the church – waits for Christ. Below is the title track – but be sure to check out their other songs as well:
“She Waits”
Look’n back upon that day
When the dawn first held its gaze
Upon the son and the daughter’s faceBut strange now it seems
Like some dark and distant dream
Still she hopes and longs to be
Once again, and finally freeSo she waits, she waits
She waits, she waitsShe’s seen empires come and go
Watched the kingdoms children grow
Sparks and embers far from home
Born to shine, and to behold
Cuz on her chain is a lock and the key
Is the radiance she will see
From the light that’s gonna be
Cast from the sons and the daughters free
She’s a captive til’ she sees
By the morning light
Redeemed sons and daughters
The Gray Havens centers around husband/wife Dave and Licia Radford.
