Two weeks until school starts again. Wow.
As summer draws to a close, it’s time to take a brief review of my summer reading plan. You can see my original article and plan HERE.
I nearly made it through my entire list, falling short and running out of summer to read The Man Called Cash by Steve Turner. Right now I am reading The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and am thoroughly, thoroughly enjoying it. What a delightful and thought provoking story.
I would have to say that my favorite book of the summer was When I Was a Child I Read Books by Marilynne Robinson. And while I do not normally “re-read” books, I think I can see myself revisiting this one at some point in the future.
I just realized that every single book from my Summer Reading Plan was read from my Kindle program. That’s interesting. I’ve enjoyed using the Kindle and continue to do so more and more.
I had planned on closing this post with a quote from my “Uncle” C.S. Lewis, however the man had so many great things to say about reading that I can’t settle on one sentence. Here’s a blog post by J. Ben Deaton that lists several great Lewis quotes on Reading. Enjoy!
