I just finished watching the movie “Courageous”.
How can one review such a movie as this?
It was a high-quality production. The script was real, the actors believable. Not just believable, no; they were also real.
I am a bit of a wreck as I write this, because the similarities to the life of my family, meaning my four children, is nearly too close to home.
One of the things that got me was the stats near the beginning of the movie from the sheriff. Those stats are more than just figures, they represent real children. Real children who are facing life without a father.
I am burdened tonight with the weight of responsibility I have for my children. I have to be mom an dad. I have to see that they grow up to be Godly men and women. And I can’t do that without God’s help. I can’t. I fail so often.
We need to pray for all children who are fatherless, whether through divorce, death or arrest. We need to pray that God will bring Godly men into their lives to help teach them and mentor them.
And we need to pray for the mothers. For strength, energy and a drive to parent well.
I covet your prayers myself, for I am very tired. I want to be courageous. I need to be courageous. I need to have courage.

is God in his holy habitation.
